MANDATORY COST SHEET -
The price we quoted you was our base price assuming you will supply the 5 items below, or, for an additional charge, rent them from us:
1) Covered, cool area, protected from mist and sun, (tree covered will not work, as debris contaminates our materials, and then gets in your children's eyes.) If you cannot supply a fully shaded, protected area, we suggest you call a rental company. If it is over 90 degrees, or under 65, we must be inside, in a climate control area.
2) Two normal* height chair/s for each artist.
3) A sturdy table, at least 6ft long, longer is fine, one for each painter.
Picnic tables with built in benches will NOT work, as we cannot pull the chairs close enough to the table,
4) Excellent lighting
During the day, we can be set up close to a window. If you rent lighting from us, you will need to supply electricity
5) LINE COORDINATOR or SECURITY
For the safety of your guests, if you have over 60 people to paint, we will need a line coordinator. This increases the number of people we can paint drastically. This can be any adult, kindly person in your circle of friends or family.
For public events at which you are offering free face painting to you guests, and over 100 guests are expected, 'security' MUST be assigned to our team.
> Loud Noises: Set us up away from bands and DJs: Loud noises can cause those being painted to be startled and jump. This can be very dangerous. Plus, the painters cannot hear what the your guests are asking for. Painters should be in a separate room from bands and DJs.
> Unhappy Babies: I am very good at finding ways to paint tiny toddlers. But, if none of my methods work, I will not force a child to be painted.
> Ending: you have contracted with me for a specific time. I will monitor the number of people waiting and do my best to close out at the time you requested. If it seems I cannot get everyone done in time, I will ask someone to find you. If I do not have another engagement after yours, you can keep me for $1 per minute, for as long you need me to stay. If you want me to go and there is a line waiting, you are responsible for letting your guests know that I need to leave. I am happy to share in a tiny white lie, and have you say I have another appointment.
> Waiting List: I use my own system of numbering for a waiting list. Please don't try to help me with this, other than asking one of your adults to help me coordinate the line in you have a large group.
> Children First: with your permission, I will paint all interested children under 12 first, then others as time permits. I will not do "second turns," until everyone, adults and children, have their first turn.
> Problem Parents: very **rarely** I will have a parent, or child, who is a problem. For instance, a parent who insists their child should go before the other children. Or, a child who wants to play with my supplies (I have over $2000 invested in my materials, and I sanitize everything between each person. So, I do not want anything touched. Ninety-nine percent of the time, I handle these situations easily myself. But, if I feel I must be too "firm," I will say to the parent, or child, "please go ask the people who have hired me. They will let you know how they want this handled."
Jumpers: face painting will rarely survive sweating in a jumper. But, they will be having a great time!
> Stray children - Public Parks: very often at parks, stray children will see you have fun things going on, and ask me to paint them, play in your jumper and eat your cake! This can be a real problem in making the wait time VERY long for your guests to get painted. I have had parents of these stray children try to bully me into painting them. Since I have no way of knowing who belongs with your group, please assign one of your guests to be my line monitor.
